Samsung has kicked off the month of June 2023 by rolling out a new update for Galaxy A02s and Galaxy M02 smartphones. This update focuses on enhancing the security and stability of the devices, ensuring a smoother user experience.
The June 2023 update for Samsung Galaxy A02s introduces the April 2023 security patch, while the Galaxy M02 receives the March 2023 security patch. These security patches address various vulnerabilities and aim to bolster the security and privacy features of the smartphones.

The April 2023 security patch included in the Galaxy A02s update addresses five critical, 46 high, and one moderate level vulnerabilities, enhancing the overall security of the device. Similarly, the March 2023 security patch for Galaxy M02 addresses five critical and 35 high-level vulnerabilities, along with 23 One UI patches (Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures).
To update your Samsung Galaxy A02s or M02, follow these steps:
- Go to the Settings menu on your smartphone.
- Scroll down and select the Software update option.
- Tap on Download and install to check for available updates.
- If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it.
We recommend installing the update as soon as possible if you receive a notification for it.
While the focus of the June update is on the Galaxy A02s and M02 models, Samsung is also working on bringing the June update to the Galaxy S23 series. Additionally, the May 2023 update is being expanded to more Samsung Galaxy phones, ensuring that devices across various price ranges receive the latest security enhancements.

This update, carrying firmware version A207FXXS5CWE1, primarily focuses on security improvements, addressing 72 security flaws in Android OS and Samsung’s hardware and software.
While the Galaxy A02s may not be eligible for major feature updates like Android 13, users can still benefit from enhanced security provided by regular patches. The May 2023 security patch is crucial in protecting the device from potential security threats.
To update your Galaxy A02s, navigate to the Settings app on your phone, access the “Software update” section, and select “Download and install” to install the available update. Alternatively, you can manually download the official firmware files from the Samsung website.
