Enhanced User Settings and Recommendations

With the latest Bixby update, Samsung has made Bixby more intelligent and proactive. When interacting with Bixby, the voice assistant now recommends useful settings related to a wider range of commands, allowing users to optimize their experience and customize Bixby according to their preferences. This enhancement empowers users to utilize Bixby more effectively and efficiently.

Tweaked Child Account Options

Samsung has made specific improvements to the child account feature, which was introduced earlier this year. With Bixby version 3.3.15.18, child account users now have the ability to request verification from parents before accessing Bixby services and require additional third-party sharing permissions. These changes prioritize security and parental control, ensuring a safe and responsible usage environment for young users. Although the child account feature is currently supported in the USA and South Korea, Samsung plans to expand its availability to more countries gradually.

Voice Wake-Up Enhancements

As a result of user input, Samsung has improved Bixby’s voice wake-up feature. Even when the “Wake up when sound is playing” option is disabled, Bixby now allows users to activate voice wake-up when a ringtone, alarm, or Bixby TTS (Text-To-Speech) is playing. This means users can conveniently interact with Bixby through voice commands, even in scenarios where media is already playing. The new option, “Wake up when media is playing,” can be found in the Bixby Settings menu under “Voice wake-up.”

Improving Personalization and Customization

Samsung has provided capabilities that allow consumers to further customise their Bixby experience because it understands the value of customization. Bixby Text Call, previously available in Korean, is now also accessible in English, allowing English speakers to answer calls from anywhere by typing a message that Bixby converts to audio and communicates to the caller on their behalf. Additionally, users can now personalize their Bixby Text Call voice by recording different sentences, enabling Bixby to create an AI-generated copy of their voice and tone. Furthermore, Bixby now supports changes to the custom wake-up phrase, allowing users to create a personalized wake-up phrase for the assistant.

Continuity and Contextual Understanding

Samsung aims to make Bixby a more intelligent platform that understands user intent and provides a seamless experience. Through the latest update, Bixby introduces new scenarios, such as playing music based on the type of exercise in Samsung Health or saving schedules in Calendar. Bixby’s enhanced language recognition, processing, and response capabilities enable it to better understand follow-up requests by associating previously used words and contextual information. This facilitates a more natural and conversational interaction with the assistant.
